- Linda,
-
- I recently purchased a Cardinal MV288XF modem which had the V1.20 firmware.
- It connected every time to my ISP at 26400. After reading Cardinal's press
- release for V1.40 stating much improved connect rates, I download and upgraded
- to V1.40, hoping to get 28800 to my ISP.
-
- With V1.40 installed, the modem was unable to connect at 26400 to my ISP (now
- got 24000 or even 21600)! I download the V1.20 update program, but was UNABLE
- to reflash back to V1.20.
-
- An email to Cardinal tech support asking how to go back to V1.20 was answered
- saying, in paraphrase, "It is not possible to flash V1.40 back to V1.20. If
- you want to do this, you must send the modem back to Cardinal for repair at
- your expense."
-
- Needless to say that's not what I wanted to hear! :-(
-
- I returned the modem and bought a USR.
